We welcome Yelena (Lena), Tim and Sara as our speakers. The three of them serve on leadership teams shaping national student movements in Central Asia.
Over the past years, God has been expanding the work in Central Asia of an international organization (with which AFC is affiliated) which is committed to seeing students become disciples of Jesus and Christian student movements grow and thrive. As part of this growing team of leaders, Lena, Sara and Tim are working with others to encourage the development of flourishing national student movements in Central Asia that are Christ-centered, contextualized to each country's culture, and that feed the work of the church in this region where few are Christians and where professing Christ is costly for those who identify with Him.
God has given those involved in the student work in Central Asia a deep vision for this ministry. They dream that from the student world in Central Asia will come a steady stream of faithful men and women who love the Lord Jesus Christ, are willing to follow Him at all cost, and are allowing Him to change their thinking and their lives for His glory, thus drawing their family, classmates, colleagues and society closer to Christ.
Along with their leadership roles, Lena, Sara and Tim have a deep passion for leading students into Scripture such that God can transform their thinking and lives. With this in mind, the three of them look forward to leading us into the transformational teaching of Jesus found in the Sermon on the Mount.
In addition to their involvement, we also welcome Jason, a student at the University of Toronto and part of a journey that he and Tim are on to lead others into Scripture through Scripture memory. Jason will join Tim for a seminar Sunday afternoon in which they will demonstrate ways that Scripture memorization can deepen our Christian walk and witness.
